The next stop on the Charles Evans PCF Pro/Am Tour brought our competitors from Greenwich, CT, to the glamorous Hamptons for tournament number three on the tour. As is tradition, participants gathered on Friday evening at Don Engels house, allowing old friends to reunite over cocktails and dinner.

Teams then met up on Saturday morning at various private homes for practice. Saturdays lunch at the Palins residence, proved yet again to be one of the highlights of the weekend, lobster rolls, shrimp, crab cakes and salmon were but a few of the gastronomical delights served to the guests poolside.
The Saturday evening dinner party was hosted by Julia and David Koch at their magnificent Southampton home. The event payed homage to world renowned fashion designer Valentino’s recent, dazzling chateau party at his home in Versailles. No detail was left behind as the décor was replicated onto the transformed tennis court layered with astro turf and speckled with trees resembling a garden. From the all white, relaxed living room seating arrangements to the hot pink lit bars with perspex bar stools to the suspended floral art pieces and mirrors, one thing was for certain, the host’s taste was immaculately reflected!
Play was scheduled to begin at 9.30am on Sunday morning at the Ross School, however mother nature decided to interfere with rain allowing players to finally begin competing after lunch. After about 2 hours of play, Joel Pashcow and his partner Paul Hanley emerged as victors in one division while rain prevented Dick Merkin and partner Jimmy Arias from playing Rodney Propp and Rick Leach in the other final, this title was shared between the two teams.
Our leader board reveals Sam Herzberg holding a slim lead over Joel Pashcow followed by Larry McCarthy in third place. The final event for the year, in Palm Beach, will reveal the 2 tour champions for 2010.
Once again, a very big thank you to the Charles Evans Foundation, Julia and David Koch, Mickey and Dean Palin, Don Engel, The Ross School and their volunteers, Movado, Thorlo, Babolat, Menaji and of course all our amateurs and professionals.

Next stop Palm Beach.
